Recruitment Conditions 2026/2027

for foreigners applying to English-language studies at the Medical University of Lublin in the academic year 2026/2027

 

Admission to 2026/2027

Available study programs:

  • 6-year Medicine Program – long-cycle, Master’s degree
  • 5-year Medical Dentistry Program – long-cycle, Master’s degree
  • 3-year Nursing Program – first-cycle, Bachelor degree
  • 3-year Midwifery Program – first-cycle, Bachelor degree

 

STEP 1: Online Registration & Application Fee

  • Recruitment starts on April 17, 2026 via the Online Recruitment System for Candidates.
  • Candidate must complete the online application process by:
    • Creating an account in the application system
    • Filling in personal information and details about previous education
    • Adding the selected study program to their application
      • In the system, candidates shall select the appropriate path according to the country where they completed secondary education:
        • Candidates who completed secondary school in EU, OECD, or EFTA countries or countries with which Poland has signed agreements – exemption from the subject-specific entrance examination
        • Candidates who completed secondary school in other countries – required to take the subject-specific entrance examination
    • Uploading scans of required documents and paying the application fee – 100 PLN

 

STEP 2: Qualification Procedure – Entrance Exam Requirements

Two paths, depending on the country of completion of secondary school:

 

Candidates who completed secondary school in EU, OECD, or EFTA countries or countries with which Poland has signed agreements

  • These candidates hold certificates recognized in Poland automatically.
  • They are exempt from taking the subject-specific entrance examination.
  • Mandatory documents (to be submitted online):
    • High school diploma and transcript of grades (required subjects: biology and two (MD, DDS) or one (NURS., MIDW.) subject to choose from: mathematics, chemistry, physics)
    • English language certificate (minimum B2), in line with the Minister of Science and Higher Education regulation from July 2025
  • Recognition of certificates by NAWA is not required for this group.
  • Scoring:
    • Each subject (Biology + two additional subjects for Medicine/Medical Dentistry; Biology + one additional subject for Nursing/Midwifery) – max 100 points per subject
    • Interview and Qualification Test – max 100 points each
    • Maximum total score – Medicine/Medical Dentistry - 500 points, Nursing/Midwifery - 400 points.

 

Candidates who completed secondary school in other countries

  • These candidates are required to have their high school certificates recognized by NAWA, as their documents are not automatically recognized under Polish law.
  • They are required to take the the subject-specific entrance examination.
  • Mandatory documents (to be submitted online):
    • High school diploma and transcript of grades
    • Certificate of Recognition of high school documents issued by the Director of NAWA
    • English language certificate (minimum B2), in line with the Minister of Science and Higher Education regulation from July 2025 
  • •    Subject-specific entrance examination - subjects: 
    • Medicine (6-year) and Medical Dentistry (5-year): Biology + two subjects to choose fromŁ Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
    • Nursing (3-year) and Midwifery (3-year): Biology + one subject to choose fromŁ Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
  • Scoring:
    • Each subject in the subject-specific entrance examination – max 100 points
    • Interview and Qualification Test – max 100 points each
    • Maximum total score – Medicine/Medical Dentistry - 500 points, Nursing/Midwifery - 400 points.

Important: the subject-specific entrance examination is separate from the Qualification Test (Step 3). 


 

STEP 3: Qualification Test & Entrance Interview

All candidates, regardless of the recruitment path, are required to participate in both the interview and the qualification test.

  1. Qualification Test
    • The test consists of questions covering terminology of Life & Mathematical sciences
    • Maximum score: 100 points
    • Format and duration (depending on the program):
      • Medicine and Medical Dentistry: 20 questions, 20 minutes
      • Nursing and Midwifery: 10 questions, 10 minutes
    • The test is conducted online (details provided to approved candidates)
  2. Entrance Interview
    • The interview consists of questions divided into the following categories:
      • Motivation & Empathy, Teamwork & Career aspirations in medical fields
      • Life & Mathematical Sciences terminology
    • Maximum score: 100 points
    • Duration: 5–10 minutes per candidate
    • The interview is conducted online (details provided to approved candidates)

Both exams aim to assess motivation, teamwork, compassion, dedication, and empathy, as well as confirm sufficient knowledge of English terminology in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics at a high school graduate level.

The test and interview will be preceded by identity verification. Candidates must have their passport or another valid identity document ready.


 

STEP 4: Submission of Required Documents (Originals)

Initially qualified candidates will be requested to submit hard copies of required documents. Due dates will be announced by the Recruitment Section.


 

STEP 5: Enrollment 

Successful candidates who have completed steps 1-4 will be formally enrolled as students.

The subject-specific entrance examination  assesses the candidate’s knowledge in Biology and in one or more subjects selected by the candidate from Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. It is designed to evaluate readiness for the chosen program and the ability to apply fundamental concepts in these subjects.

The exam covers fundamental concepts in Biology and in the additional subject(s) required for the chosen program. It evaluates comprehension of essential material and readiness for university-level study. All questions are presented in a multiple-choice format.

  • Medicine / Medical Dentistry: Biology plus two subjects selected from Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

  • Nursing / Midwifery: Biology plus one subject selected from Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.

The subject-specific entrance examination consists exclusively of multiple-choice questions. The total number of questions depends on the selected program.

  • Medicine / Medical Dentistry:

    • Biology - obligatory: 20 question

    • Additional subject 1 - selected by the candidate from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics: 15 questions

    • Additional subject 2 - selected by the candidate from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics: 15 questions
  • Nursing / Midwifery:

    • Biology - obligatory: 15 questions

    • Additional subject - selected by the candidate from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics: 10 questions 

Maximum score: 100 points for each subject.

Exact instructions will be provided to each candidate before the exam.

  • The exam is conducted online.
  • Candidates must log in at the scheduled time and follow the instructions provided.
  • The timer starts automatically when the exam begins, and it must be completed in one sitting.
  • Any technical issues must be reported immediately to the Recruitment Section.
  • Cheating in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • Candidates who fail to attend the exam at the scheduled time without prior notice may not be offered a rescheduled exam.
  • The camera and microphone must remain on throughout the exam.
  • The exam will be preceded by identity verification. Candidates must have their passport or another valid identity document ready.

Candidates are required to have:

  • A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection

  • A functioning camera and microphone

  • A quiet, well-lit workspace

  • Updated browser software (Chrome, Firefox, or equivalent)

Mobile devices or tablets are not recommended  for taking the exam. Can be used only for ZOOM meeting.

Permitted:

  • Blank sheets of paper and a pen or pencil for rough work.

Prohibited:

  • Textbooks, notes, or any other reference materials

  • Electronic devices (phones, calculators, tablets)

  • Assistance from others or external sources

Candidates may prepare using textbooks and study materials covering:

  • Core Biology concepts

  • Basic Chemistry, Physics, and/or Mathematics (depending on the selected elective subject)

  • Fundamental terminology and problem-solving techniques

The qualification test is designed to assess applicants’ understanding of key terminology and concepts in Life and Mathematical Sciences. It serves as a preliminary evaluation of readiness for studies in the selected program.

The test focuses on fundamental terminology and essential concepts relevant to the program. Topics may include:

The structure and duration of the test depend on the chosen program:

  • Medicine and Medical Dentistry: 20 multiple-choice questions (20 minutes)
  • Nursing and Midwifery: 10 multiple-choice questions (10 minutes)

Each question has one correct answer. The maximum score is 100 points.

  • The test is conducted online.
  • Candidates receive an invitation with a link to the test and login details 1-2 days before the scheduled qualification test.
  • The test must be completed in one sitting.
  • The camera and microphone must remain on throughout the test.
  • The timer starts automatically once the candidate begins the test.
  • All technical problems must be reported immediately.
  • Cheating in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • The test and interview will be preceded by identity verification. Candidates must have their passport or another valid identity document ready.
  • Candidates who fail to attend the interview without prior notice may not be offered a new appointment.

Candidates must prepare the following:

  • A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection
  • A functioning camera and microphone
  • A quiet, well-lit workspace
  • Updated browser software (Chrome, Firefox, or equivalent) and ZOOM application

Mobile phones and tablets are not recommended for taking the test. Can be used only for ZOOM meeting.

  • Blank sheets of paper and a pen/pencil

Prohibited:

  • Textbooks, notes, and printed materials
  • Smartphones, calculators, or other electronic devices, other than required for joining the ZOOM meeting
  • Assistance from other individuals
  • Browsing external websites during the test

This list is not comprehensive and may be supplemented with additional recommended titles.

The entrance interview assesses the applicant’s motivation, communication skills, understanding of the chosen field of study, and overall readiness for the program. It also provides an opportunity for candidates to present their interests, experiences, and academic goals.

During the interview, candidates may be asked about:

  • Motivation for choosing the program
  • Understanding of the profession and its responsibilities
  • Previous experience, interests, or academic background
  • Basic knowledge related to life sciences or healthcare (depending on the program)
  • Simple ethical or problem-solving scenarios
  • Future academic and career plans

The interview is not intended to test advanced academic knowledge; instead, it assesses how well the candidate understands and uses fundamental terminology in the life and mathematical sciences, as well as their motivation for pursuing the program.

  • The interview is conducted online.
  • Duration: typically 5-10 minutes.
  • The interview is conducted by members of Admissions Committee, supervised by Recruitments Section representative.
  • The interview is conducted on ZOOM platform.
  • The interview is conducted after finishing of qualification test - candidates must wait in the virtual waiting room until their interview begins.

Candidates will receive the exact date, time, and link for ZOOM meeting 1-2 days before the Entrance interview.

Interview Procedure

  • The interview is conducted after finishing of the qualification test - candidates must wait in the virtual waiting room until their interview begins.
  • The camera and microphone must remain on throughout the interview.
  • Candidates should present themselves clearly and professionally.
  • Any technical issues must be reported immediately to the Recruitment Section.
  • The interview must be completed individually, without assistance from others.
  • Cheating in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • Serious technical issues must be reported immediately to the Recruitment Section.
  • Candidates who fail to attend the interview without prior notice may not be offered a new appointment.

Please prepare:

  • A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection
  • A functioning microphone and camera
  • A quiet, private, and well-lit room
  • Updated ZOOM application

 

Permitted:

  • A blank sheet of paper and a pen or pencil for personal notes.

Prohibited:

  • All other materials, including textbooks, notes, electronic devices, or assistance from others.
  • Using a second device or external help
  • Having other individuals present in the room
  • Looking up answers online during the interview
